A Belated Happy New Year

Hey everybody, happy belated new year if I haven't already wished you well during Christmas and on New Years day.

Just sit back for a moment and think. Isn't it amazing how far we have come in the past few years? Over the holidays I did a little reflecting, and am now so pumped up for the second half of university.

Over the Christmas break I overcame my fears of falling by finally learning how to ice skate, which was so exciting! Let me just say theres something about skating during the evening at Nathan Phillips Square thats magical.

The break from university was a long but definitely deserved hiatus from all of the essay writing and research that has been going on, but now its great to be "back in the drivers seat" ready to work hard until April.

A lot of people each year make new years resolutions, what are some of yours?

It's Christmas Time....!

Just when I thought it would be a snowless Christmas break, I wake up to snow..well sort of. So it has snowed overnight but it doesn't look like the snow is here to stay.

Anyway, today I completed part two of my Christmas shopping list. I think I've spent around $300 in total, which is crazy-insane from my days of...lets just say more financially friendly shopping haha :P

Choosing gifts this year has been a lot more easy since a lot of people just outright give a list of possible things they would like. I love that, especially for one of my friends who is like the most picky person I know.

The fall semester is over (more or less), Christmas shopping is done, and I got to watch Brothers (2009), which by the way has some intense scenes with Tobey Macguire!

Changes, Posters, and Meaning
About the book: "The Twilight Saga"

With Summer 2009 way past us, I often find myself looking outside my window just thinking 'Where on Earth has the time gone?!". The truth is, time has been going as it usually does, as it has been going since the beginnings of civilization; I just haven't noticed it yet until major time periods in my life go passing by.

The transition to university has been definitely with its challenges, but also with it rewards. No longer do I have to be in a limited food varieties cafeteria, I can now choose from an array of delicious treats; some inspired by places halfway around the globe. My classes are a different story; lectures and tutorials, labs, whatever kind of class they may be are larger than life! Some professors will make the effort to learn your name and your face, while others are just satisfied with getting their ideas out there to the students they teach.

And well, thats just school. Work in itself has become somewhat of a staple to my life. My schedule has become routine: nine and a half hours every Saturday, except for the occasional Saturday I take off, fearing that I will go utterly insane if I don't. My tasks, the same as they have always been: cashing out customers, dealing with customers, stocking shelves, filling homes. I remember back to a time where I was actually excited about this job, but now my feelings have plateaued. Its not that I hate my job, its great, but as a young adult in the modern world, you can't help but wonder "Whats next, where can I go to further myself?".

Then there comes social relationships. Whether they be platonic or perhaps something more, one can't help but wonder whats around the corner. There have been a few events such as the YorkFest concert which rhythm and blues artists came and performed as well as a few electronica acts. That was enjoyable as well as the daytime fair along campus walk. It was my first little taste of the university social life and I think I like it. An inter-racial novelist once wrote "When you look for love, you never find it". I pace back and forth wondering whether or not that holds some truth.

Whenever I come across quotes I can't help but over analyze them until I can interpret certain outcomes. Quotes I think are the spice intellects and regular citizens alike can get used to.

Recently, (Friday evening I believe] I went to the poster sale they were holding in Vari Hall at York University. Not knowing what I wanted to purchase, I started talking to a few strangers. Before I knew it, I came home with three posters that I am quite pleased with. The first, being a Twilight poster. But not just any ordinary Twilight poster, this one was a photo of Edward and Bella; a very cold, yet stunning pose and below their photo a quote from Edward Cullen straight from Midnight Sun (An unreleased Twilight piece by author Stephenie Meyer). The next, a painting of a crying girl, while two other figures are hidden in the background. There is this element of strong emotion that I couldn't draw myself away from it, and I bought the piece. And lastly, a piece consisting of a couple called "Kissing Quartet". It was shot in black & white, and it seemed so candid, so romantic and so I bought that as well.

Art has been somewhat of an interest of mine, although I see myself more as an appreciator of art rather than a creator of it.

Body Trace: The Weight Chart Revolution
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Hey everyone,
So I was web surfing as I usually do, trying to find new and interesting things to share. Through a friend I was able to find out about this new 'Body Trace' product.

A quote from the official website:

"The BodyTrace eScale and Website is a complete package for all of you who take their health seriously. By tracking your weight you can ensure a healthy lifestyle and your fitness or weight loss goals can be achieved in an efficient way.

The eScale is a bathroom scale that wirelessly uploads and displays your weight at the BodyTrace Website."

Although it seems quite innovative, I kind of have my doubts on how successful and popular something like this could become.

What are your thoughts?

The End is Near!
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Hello (again) everybody. Today is my third-last [if that's even said properly] day at the TIG Toronto office.

It has just began to get to the me that, hey my time at TIG is almost up! Somehow throughout the 8 months of commuting, and working on different projects, the journey is approaching its end.

However despite all of this I am in a very relaxed state. All of my accomplishments and achievements have allowed me to now just take a break, as I get ready to leave on a good note, June 1st.
